Privacy Policy

Effective date: 27th October 2026
Last updated: 27th October 2026

1. About Truth

Truth (“we”, “us” or “our”) is a UK-based LGBTQ+ events brand creating inclusive nightlife experiences centred around dancehall music, culture, community and self-expression.

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect your information when you purchase tickets, attend our events, visit our website, sign up for updates or interact with us on social media.

Our aim is to create a space where everyone can enjoy themselves and feel comfortable, while treating their personal information with care and respect.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on how you interact with Truth, we may collect the following information:

  • Contact information: Your name, email address and telephone number.

  • Ticketing and booking information: Ticket purchases, booking references, event registration details and attendance records.

  • Payment information: Transaction details and payment confirmations processed through third-party ticketing and payment providers. We do not intentionally store your full payment card details.

  • Marketing preferences: Your mailing-list subscription status and communication preferences.

  • Event photographs and videos: Images or recordings captured at our events, where applicable.

  • Messages and enquiries: Information you provide when contacting us, submitting feedback or communicating with our team.

  • Website and technical information: Information such as IP address, device type, browser information and website usage data, where collected.

  • Accessibility or support information: Information you choose to provide when requesting assistance or adjustments for an event.

We aim to collect only the information reasonably necessary to organise our events, communicate with attendees and operate our business.

3. How We Use Your Information

We may use your personal information to:

  • Process ticket purchases and manage event bookings.

  • Send booking confirmations, event updates and important announcements.

  • Respond to enquiries, feedback and customer support requests.

  • Organise, manage and improve our events.

  • Send information about future Truth events, parties, ticket releases and special offers where permitted by law.

  • Manage event safety and investigate incidents where necessary.

  • Maintain and improve our website and services.

  • Meet our legal, accounting and regulatory obligations.

We will process personal information only where we have an appropriate lawful basis under applicable data protection law.

4. Protecting Your Privacy as an LGBTQ+ Event Brand

Truth recognises that attending an LGBTQ+ event may reveal information about someone's personal life, identity or community connections.

We do not assume that everyone attending our events identifies as LGBTQ+, and we do not intentionally infer or record an attendee's sexual orientation or gender identity simply because they attend a Truth event.

We aim to handle attendee lists, booking information, communications and event content discreetly. We will not sell attendee lists or disclose them to other attendees, promoters or unrelated third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Sexual orientation is considered special-category personal data under UK GDPR. If information we collect or infer qualifies as special-category data, we will process it only where we have an appropriate lawful basis and satisfy any additional legal requirements.

5. Event Photography and Videography

Photography and videography may take place at some Truth events to document our parties, capture the atmosphere and promote future events.

By purchasing a ticket to a Truth event, you acknowledge that photography and videography may take place during the event for the purpose of documenting our parties and promoting future Truth events, including on our website and social media channels.

We will take reasonable steps to notify guests when photography or filming is taking place, including through event notices, signage or information provided during the ticket-purchasing process.

Your privacy matters. We recognise that being identifiable at an LGBTQ+ event may have personal privacy implications. We will handle photographs and videos respectfully and will not knowingly use them to make claims about an individual's sexual orientation or gender identity.

Purchasing a ticket does not remove your rights under applicable data protection law, and this acknowledgement does not replace any separate consent that may be required for particular uses of your image.

Requesting the Removal of Photographs or Videos

If you appear in a photograph or video taken by or on behalf of Truth and would like it removed, you may request removal by emailing [insert contact email].

Please include a description of the photograph or video, the event date and a link or screenshot if available, so that we can identify the content.

We will review requests promptly and, where appropriate, remove the content from our channels and stop using it for future promotional purposes. We will also take reasonable steps to remove copies under our control where practicable.

Requests will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection law. In some circumstances, we may have a lawful reason to retain certain material or may be unable to remove copies published independently by third parties. Where relevant, we will explain the position to you.

If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed, please speak to a member of the Truth team or contact us before the event where possible. We will take reasonable steps to respect your wishes and help you avoid being included in identifiable promotional content.

6. Third-Party Ticketing Platforms

Truth sells tickets through third-party ticketing platforms. When you purchase a ticket, the platform may collect and process your personal information, payment details and booking information under its own privacy policy.

We may receive relevant information from the ticketing platform, such as your name, contact details, ticket type and booking status, to manage the event and communicate essential information to attendees.

The ticketing provider may act as an independent data controller for some processing activities. We encourage you to review its privacy policy before purchasing a ticket.

Truth is not responsible for processing carried out independently by third-party platforms, but we will take reasonable steps to work with our service providers to protect information shared with us.

7. Marketing and Communications

If you subscribe to Truth's mailing list or marketing updates, we may use your contact information to send you:

  • Announcements about upcoming parties and events.

  • Ticket releases and early access opportunities.

  • Special offers and updates about Truth.

We will send direct marketing communications in accordance with applicable UK law. Where consent is required, we will obtain it before sending marketing messages.

You can unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe link in an email or contacting us directly.

Unsubscribing from marketing will not prevent us from sending essential communications about a booking you have made.

8. Cookies and Website Technologies

If our website uses cookies or similar technologies, these may help it function correctly, remember preferences, measure website traffic or support marketing activities.

Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before placing non-essential cookies or using similar technologies.

You may be able to manage your preferences through our website's cookie settings or your browser settings.

If we use third-party analytics or advertising tools, we will provide further information where required.

12. How We Protect Your Information

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.

Access to personal information should be limited to people and service providers who need it for legitimate business purposes.

However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on the circumstances and applicable data protection law, you may have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you.

  • Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.

  • Request deletion of your personal information in certain circumstances.

  • Object to certain uses of your information or request that processing be restricted.

  • Request a copy of certain information in a portable format.

  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on your consent.

We will handle requests in accordance with applicable law. Some information may need to be retained where we have a valid legal obligation or another lawful reason to do so.

14. Third-Party Websites and Social Media

Truth may link to external websites or use third-party platforms, including ticketing services and social media platforms.

These services operate under their own privacy policies and terms. We encourage you to review those policies before providing personal information.

Where photographs or videos are shared on social media, the relevant platform may process the content under its own terms and privacy policy. We will take reasonable steps within our control to address appropriate removal requests, but we cannot guarantee removal of copies independently shared or retained by other users or platforms.
